Overview

This privacy policy describes how the ClickTrust Fraud Indicator app ("the App") collects, uses, and shares information when a merchant installs it on their Shopify store.

What data the App collects

From merchants (Shopify store owners)

• Shop domain and OAuth session data required to operate the embedded app.
• Campaign metadata you create in the app: campaign name, landing page domain/URL, and ClickTrust tracking identifiers returned by the ClickTrust API.

From store visitors (via ClickTrust tracking)

When a merchant pastes the ClickTrust tracking snippet on a landing page, visitor traffic is analyzed by ClickTrust. That analysis may include technical signals such as IP address, browser/device characteristics, and fraud-risk scores. The App displays aggregated traffic-quality results inside Shopify; it does not store raw visitor click records in the App database.

What we do not collect

• Shopify customer names, emails, or order data.
• Payment card or checkout information.

How data is used

• Authenticate merchants and show campaign management UI.
• Create and manage ClickTrust landing-page campaigns on the merchant's behalf.
• Display traffic-quality summaries (fraud scores, bot/proxy indicators) in the Shopify admin.

Third-party sharing

The App communicates with the ClickTrust External API using a server-side partner API key. Campaign creation and traffic-quality requests are sent to ClickTrust so the service can score landing-page traffic. ClickTrust's handling of visitor data is governed by their own policies at clicktrust.cc.

Data retention and deletion

• When the App is uninstalled, Shopify OAuth sessions for the shop are removed.
• After uninstall, Shopify sends a shop/redact webhook; the App deletes remaining shop-specific campaign records from its database.
• The App does not store Shopify customer personal data, so customers/data_request and customers/redact webhooks require no customer-level export or erasure in the App database.
